Cold drawn special profiles
Transformation of bars into secondary or final products
Cold drawing is the main step of our profile manufacturing process.
This precision forming process technology reduces the cross-sectional area of the material (bars or coils) by drawing it through dies and transforming it into a secondary or final product.
Cold drawing technology excels in creating complex geometries with centesimal precision.
The process involves a number of drawing steps during which the steel passes through progressively smaller dies, until the geometry and sizes established in the design phase are achieved.
The cold drawing process modifies the material’s structure and mechanical properties, according to specific design requirements.
15 drawing lines
We have 15 drawing lines: 11 are bar drawing benches (pulling force min 12-max 100 tons) for 13 meter-long products with drawing speed up to 35 m/min, and 4 combined drawing machines for coil drawing (pulling force 12 tons).
Equipment and die laboratory
The drawing department is supported by a specialized laboratory, equipped with computerized spark and wire erosion machines. These machines are used to make very hard, high-precision equipment and dies that are required for manufacturing drawn profiles.
Manual finishing
Dies are finished in the tooling workshop by our highly-experienced technicians to ensure over time their optimal use on the drawing lines. The department also incudes a metrology room provided with computerized systems for measuring and checking our profiles.
